Nothing at all

Do you know how many deep and fascinating blog posts I think of while I'm in the carpentry? Ooooh, studies of grief, ideas about language, revelations about writing, posts about how ridiculous my cats are, about dreaming I met God (who was Jose Luis Zapatero, ex PM of Spain...)

And they all disappear into smoke whenever I sit down at the keyboard. I have writing and critting and playing of Skyrim to do...

If I was constantly connected, could access the net using eyeblinks and subvocalised commands, I could multi-task with the best of 'em. I'm sure the quality of my products would deteriorate, and I would probably go mad, but it seems very attractive at the mo. Ah, well. Earmuffs on, goggles and ipod, too. Off to earn my keep. We sold incredibly well yesterday at the market, so no day off for me this week. Got to train a new employee as I had to sack the last one when he didn't turn up or phone to let me know three times in a row... Ahh, here's the new one now... Must go.

I think that's why people like Twitter so much, as they can throw down a line or two through their phones.

I'd like to hear about meeting God/Zapatero :) (and I understand; I always get awesome ideas about blog posts when I'm away from the keyboard, and then everything dries up when I sit at my desk. Probably for the best, all things considered).

Good luck with all your tasks, you sound like you're keeping very busy.

You are better than I for even thinking of blogging when you're away from the keyboard. Maybe once in a while you'll remember those glorious ideas when you reach the computer. :)

I just googled myself and found you!
I was googling my name and I came across your writing. I host a podcast called Geek Fights where we put together a tournament style bracket about a geeky topic and then discuss it. We usually get a panel of 5 and work our way through the list until we decide the best/worst thing. I was wondering if you would like to be on the show. We record over Skype and we usually record whenever it is convenient for everyone to record.

That sounds like such a spammy title to an LJ comment, I was sure it was someone trying to sell me fake genuine designer viagra. But no!!

I think I've heard of Geek Fights, perhaps on the Dunesteef podcast, or Starship Sofa, or perhaps when I google my own name and find you...

I have skype and a pretty good headset I bought to record for podcasts. I can't however usually manage visuals when I use the good mic (you can have visuals when I use the hacked Sony eye-toy but the sound is pretty crap.) But who needs visuals on Geek Fights.

I'll look you up and have a listen before I commit - I suppose I can be pretty geeky about a few subjects but may be out of my depth... :)

I actually met another Damon Shaw who had the same birthdate as me. He lent me his jacket and then I never saw him again. (That was just before a big fire at Kings Cross Tube Station in London and I wondered if the poor man had perished.) I don't imagine it was you come back to demand your lightweight, sporty, checked number from twenty years ago...

Well, freaky. Lets stay in touch. :)

I've never been to Europe so odds are it wasn't me...unless I was traveling with the Doctor.
